My mom found a surgeon for me at a teaching hospital in Philadelphia. The next week we made an appointment for a consultation. The doctor confirmed that is was a fibroadenoma and it was large enough to remove. He asked if I would mind having some interns take a look at it and I reluctantly agreed. Before I could change my mind all these people came into the room! Then I waited (bright red) as they probed the tumor. Weird people touching your boob is never fun.
Next, my doctor explained the procedure and scheduled the surgery. I couldn't resist asking if I really had to give up chocolate and he looked at me like I was crazy. He said I would have to eat chocolate all day, every day, in order for it to cause a tumor. I was THRILLED. I completely forgot about the incident with the interns and went out to celebrate, with chocolate for dessert, of course.
