I've also got other hairy parts which I
usually forget about, except for those
times of extremely scientific self-
examination...
I think most of my feeling hairy
comes from my best friend, who used to be super hair-conscious
and always had this way of maintaining baby-smooth and
hairless skin--which of course made me look all the more
hirsute. As we got older, she always acknowledged each
new patch of my hair with a frank--but enthusiastic--salute. Like,
'Wow, that's quite a bush you got
there!'
or
'It's like you have an approaching
hairline instead of a receding hairline!'
Once when we were in college,
she made me go to the electrologist's office with her.
Everyone in the waiting room stared horrified at my hairy legs
while my best friend was in getting her bikini line
zapped. It was probably then that I realized how
glad I was that my body hair didn't bug me as much as
it seemed to bug them. I certainly was saving a lot
of money and time.
Well, my best friend's gotten hairier now--I think she got sick of spending so much on
creams and potions. Even though I've totally
got her beat in terms of quantity, some of
her fur is definitely darker and easier to
see than mine. Now it's kind of a contest.
In fact, I couldn't wait to show off the
chin whisker I sprouted recently because I
knew she didn't have one of those yet...
