My twin sister and I were on the
couch watching MTV, and there was a story about Marky Mark.
They were talking about his third nipple and I was kind of
grossed out. Then my sister squealed, "OMIGOD! I have a third
nipple too!"
For a pair of teenage twin girls, we were pretty ignorant
about each other's bodies. She hid the fact that she got her
period from me for four months, until I noticed my supply
of pads dwindling. But how could I not know about her third
nipple?
When she pulled up her shirt and showed it to me, I was in
for yet another surprise. So that's what the little nubbin
was! Well then, I had one too! And I thought it was just a
mole...
My sister's third nipple is underneath her left breast, and
it's inverted. Mine pokes out from under my right one. Face
to face, we could practically plug into each other. (We figure
that's where we broke apart.)
When people hear I have a "tertiary
nipple," they always think that means I've got another full-size,
full-color nipple, changing shape when it gets cold and everything.
I am happy to say that's not true.
Mine's about the size of a dime, browner than my other nipples,
with a little white point. It isn't sensitive at all, but
it will change a little if I rub it--which makes for a decent
party trick. I don't pull it out much anymore, though, especially
since I showed it to my mother and even she wanted to "feel
it."
After I got over the initial weirdness, I stopped feeling
strange about my third nipple. It's just my little pal, one
of the many anomalies on my body that make me, frankly, special.
I'll tell you about my short leg another time.
