How can I calm myself whenever there's a situation that makes me angry? I'm really a short-tempered person.

    Run
You know when you're so angry when you get home after a completely bad day? Best thing to do is to go for a short run, jog or any exercise. I normally grab my mp3 player & just see where fate takes me. xxxXxxx

    Comedy
When I get angry, I switch something like Friends on--a program I know will make me laugh and take my mind off things.

    A lot
There are a lot of things that help when you get angry. One thing that has helped me is listening to nice inspirational music, if you need suggestions, I have a lot. Another thing is to go outside and connect with nature. I know it sounds weird, but it truly works. Meditate or do yoga. Watch the clouds. Doing some sort of art helps, writing whether it be poetry or even a diary or journal entry. But definitely do something, you do not want to hold your anger in and let it boil up.

    It depends
I can be a very short tempered person as well (my problem is that I am very quick to shout at people or burst into tears if there's an argument), and my ways of dealing with it depends on the situation. If it's a situation I can't get out of - say I'm in class or something - then I just hold my tongue, breathe deeply, look up with my eyes if I'm feeling tearful. Just don't speak until you can be sure you can do so calmly. If it's a situation I can get out of, I either go up to my room, put on loud music and punch some pillows, or I go out for a walk up the hill near my house and (making sure no one's around!) yell my lungs out, shouting all the things I wanted to say in the situation, or just plain screaming. It's like the best therapy ever!

    Mind games
Sometimes, when I get angry/mad, I just take a deep breath and think about something I love(ex: fav. cd, pet, friend, somewhere full of peace & tranquility, etc.).

    Music
When i get stressed out I go into my room and blast some of my favortie tunes and sing at the top of my lungs. Now I've got a good voice but I learned this technique from my sister and her voice is awful so if your voice isn't the best...don't sweat it. Forget about everything around you and focus on the beat of the music or the lyrics. It really helps me. Try it. Sarah*

    Counting
When I get annoyed I just count to ten, taking deep breaths as I count. I know you might not think it would work but it does for me. Trust me. Luv snobz.xx

    Think clearly
Think about something that makes you laugh or feel good inside. You can listen to music or go outside and play or meditate. Find a way for you to think good and happy thoughts!

Whenever I get angry, (which I do often) I write. It can be anything. On a sheet of paper I write a poem, song, letter, or just my thoughts. Then, when I feel better I throw the paper away right along with the problem. TRY IT! It just might work for you too.
