You deal with this the same way you would deal with a guy that had a crush on you... I'm gay and would understand without being offended. It's probably not as big a deal as you're thinking it is. Invite her to coffee or write her a letter. Hopefully you'll come away with a good friend. It may take a few days for both of you to recover, but don't let her go any longer without knowing. That's the WORST! --Posted by JeWeL 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

First, you need to make sure that the crush isn't just a rumor because that could cause you both a lot of embarrassment. After you are sure that it's true, you should talk to her. Tell her that you would like to have a friendship rather than a relationship. --Posted by Kylie 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

I think that you should get to know her before you start to hurt anyone's feelings. And if you still don't like her, tell her she just isn't your type. But get to know her. I mean you could be missing out on a terrific girl! --Posted by ntudtud 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

If you just want to be friends with her, I think you should get the point across loud and clear. Don't be mean, just firm. Another thing to remember is to do it in person. No note-writing or phone calls, and definitely don't get someone else to do it for you. You have to let her know that YOU just want to be friends. --Posted by ThwapMeKrZ 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

If you tell her you're "not like that," it will probably really hurt her, because that's telling her that there's something wrong with her. Just tell her you want to be friends, and then see where that goes... --Posted by melodykid 10:31AM EST 03/30/04
