You should really talk to someone, and see a doctor if you're thinking about becoming sexually active. I lost my virginity without having planned to ahead of time. Eventually, my dad's sister took me to a doctor so I could get the necessary check-up, birth control and a bunch of free condoms. It's a good idea to get regular check-ups once becoming sexually active; and prescribed birth control is also a very good idea since condoms don't always work. My youngest sister is 19 and now expecting her first child thanks to a condom that didn't work.

No worries!
Everyone is embarrassed at some point, especially when it comes to sex. But, you are heading in the right direction by taking care of yourself and buying birth control. You don't have to go by yourself when it comes to doing that; take your boyfriend along or another friend--even if they aren't sexually active. At least they will know you are taking care of yourself when it comes to sex. Good luck!

More embarrassing?
What's more embarrassing? Buying birth control or getting pregnant? Just think of it that way. If you're too embarrassed to buy it then maybe you're not ready to have sex. Plain and simple.

Planned Parenthood
Try finding a Planned Parenthood or health clinic around you. They can give you all the birth control you want, and answer any questions about sex and birth control you have. You shouldn't feel embarrassed at a place like that because everyone's there for the same reason. Plus, the people who work there are used to talking to teens and young adults about sex in a straight forward non-condescending way.
