I really want to get electrolysis to fix my eyebrows, since my mom doesn't approve of plucking for some reason. But I feel so awkward having her make an appointment for me. I know it's no big deal, but my eyebrows make me really self-conscious. How can I talk to her about this issue?
Hmmm.

I know how you feel...
I suggest plucking them. I am VERY sensitive when it comes to pain, but now I pluck them--no problem. Waxing isn't bad, but you have to wait until enough hair grows to avoid waxing your skin. Threading is painless (but expensive) and with plucking you can do it when you see one hair. --Posted by fun_one87 02:12PM EST 08/15/06
Communication
I think you should not only talk to your mother about your different options for taking care of your eyebrows, but also let her know just how much they bother you. Once she knows she might give you more freedom into which method you can choose, so that you can be happy with the outcome. --Posted by grlofthecity 10:02AM EST 08/15/06
Waxing.
I get my eyebrows waxed, it hurts less than plucking, it lasts longer, and takes a lot less time. Electrolysis for eyebrows is kind of extreme. But if your mom doesn't approve of plucking, she may not approve of waxing...you should talk to her about it, because it seems like you don't know WHY she doesn't want you plucking your eyebrows. --Posted by homsar42 12:02AM EST 08/15/06
