Find someone you can trust and talk to them. I'm bi, and I have been with my girlfriend for a year and a half. At first I tried to hide everything from everyone. But I found a handful of friends I can trust, and it is the most WONDERFUL feeling in the world being with people you don't have to hide from. Don't cut yourself off, because you will find people you can relate to, I promise. --Posted by xleax 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

I think you should talk to a counselor at your school before you become open with your feelings. The one thing you shouldn't do is be afraid. Remember, us girls are here for you, and I'm glad your sister is too. As long as you are who you are and don't let other people put you down, being gay doesn't matter. There are understanding people in the world. Talk to others, tell them who you are, and if they don't accept you, that's their loss. --Posted by Infinity4eva 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

Hey...I know it's hard to be out...but I wouldn't go about it at school. There are a bunch of idiots out there that can harass you. What I did was go through the gay/lesbian/bisexual network on the Net, such as http://www.elight.org. Good luck. --Posted by LoVErGirLSeR 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

I think that you should be yourself. I am not a lesbian, but I do have lesbian friends, so I can relate. If you want to have more dating opportunities, how about joining a lesbian feminist group? How about an online support group? Get involved and love will find a way. And of course there's always gURL. Feel free to gURLgram me. --Posted by soapdish3 10:31AM EST 03/30/04

I have been there! As a matter of fact, I AM there! It's such a difficult position to be in because you're never sure whether or not the girl you like is gay. But anyway, I think that you should talk to whoever you can, and if your sister is that person, then that's great. But one of the best resources is an adult who is gay. It helps a lot. We all need someone who has been there and can serve as a reminder that we can make it, and plus they give cool advice. Peace. --Posted by grrrrowl 10:31AM EST 03/30/04
