I had the same problem but it was with my second hole on my ear. All I did was keep bugging them and asking when. If they give you a date, like when you're 18 and you're 15, explain to them nicely that that's too long to wait. Do research on the safest places, etc. I hope it works! It worked for me! --Posted by soccerkchica4 10:30AM EST 03/30/04

Well, I'm not trying to get all b*tchy, but I mean getting your belly button pierced is not the most important thing in the world. I have one and I have to clean it four times a day. I can't go swimming or in a hot tub. And when you get it done, it hurts really bad. Do you really want to go through all this for a ring in your stomach? --Posted by JohnsBunny 10:30AM EST 03/30/04

Bring them to the piercing place and have the piercer explain it to them. He'll tell you what you have to do, like take vitamins, about the healing process and about infections. Tell them that you don't mind paying for it yourself. You also have to prove to them that you are responsible: it takes a year for it to heal, and you have to wash it twice a day. --Posted by goddessrora 10:30AM EST 03/30/04

Of course your parents are gonna say that. All parents are. It took me two years to convince my parents to let me get a tattoo. So if they're upset, try to understand where they're coming from. They are trying to protect you from what other people are gonna say about you. --Posted by hip_hop_88 10:30AM EST 03/30/04

I called about it and you can get in some serious problems if it gets infected. One of my friends had it done and it got infected and she had her belly button sewn together. Also if you're under the age of 16 and it gets infected people can call social services because it's considered neglect! Sounds stupid. So wait till you're 18. --Posted by chicadee33 10:30AM EST 03/30/04
