it helped me lose my baby fat when i was 13. to all the fatties out there who are afraid to diet, you should try atkins. you can eat meat and fatty things. which i find totally disgusting now. but it works.

This diet truly works well and it is quick to make you lose weight too. I've lost 30 pounds following this diet accurately and it changes the way I think about what I eat too.

It works but then...there are consequences!
Your body loves bread, pasta ect...when you deprive it of those ever so amazing carbs your body will go nuts after and you will end up stuffing your face with all those yummy carbs you weren't having on the diet. Can you honestly live without bread?!

It's great!... Just don't stick to it long term
If you want a quick and easy way to lose weight than go for it! However it's best not to use it as a lifestyle plan like Dr. Atkins recommended, because excessively consuming proteins in the long run can place significant strain on liver and kidneys as well as damaging your bones. Also if you keep out carbs in your diet for a long time you'll be missing out on important nutrients that can only be received by eating carbs.

I lost 50 pounds on the Atkins diet and am very glad I did it. It will not kill you. Carbs are very bad for you but you are allowed 20 a day, SO ITS NOT LIKE YOUR COMPLETELY CUTTING THEM OUT OF YOUR LIFE AND ITS GONNA KILL YOU! Geez. If your overweight, then your probably going to be depressed, if you lose weight, then it will make you much happier, I know it did me because Im treated normally by everybody because Im of average weight.

I'm on atkins right now, though this is my 4th week, so im still a newbie. I feel really good (after i got off my caffine addiction). I have more energy, and ive started exersing. I just find it interesting that a majority of those diggin the diet offer supporting arguements, but most of the people dissing it are simply saying its stupid. Atkins is not a diet for everyone, but I think its for me.

i started a diet similar to it about a month and a half ago and since then i have lost 22 pounds.. its a diet but there not point in dieting if your gonna sit around on ur couch all day.. you need to exercise as well as dieting.. i dont see it as a diet tho i see it as a lifestyle change i am going to be eating and exercising for the rest of my life.. so why would i not want to be happy while im younger and not have to worry about if im going to fit in that size pants cause im too fat or something. i dont have to worry about that anyways but its all about feeling good bout yourself cause if you dont feel good about the way you look then you will just get depressed.. my bf thinks im nuts doing it because im not that big anyways but i tell him hunny im gonna be working out and keeping in shape and being healty for the rest of our lives...

sure ithas become a fad but i was on beforen that and it was/is great.It gave me more energy it lowered my cholesteral and helped me get to healthy weight.Now im off and i feel really bloated after i eat any thing exept fruit veggies or small portions of protein.It has worked for me my sister and my mom its great.Por cows...

k, all these fat girls who have no self-control are only saying it doesnt work because they know theyre too addicted to food to do it. dr. robert atkins is my personal hero, and this diet is his life's work- i think he knows what he's talking about. they run all these tests and it always works better than low-cal. and for all you uninformed tubs of lard, atkins died from slipping and hitting his head on the ice! the things fatties will make up for some attention. you havent tried it. you havent read the book. you can drop dead.

Why do people think you only eat meat?
I love this diet. Previous to beginning the diet, I was eating very healthy (or so I thought), I was eating the way my husband and daughter ate. Fruit juice, milk, cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, chicken and potatoes for supper. No fat/Low fat. I rarely ate junk food. Great diet right? Well sort of, it is great for my daughter and husband. They have a metabolism for it. For me, it was horrible, my blood sugar swings were terrible, my weight continuously climbed, and I was already overweight. Now, I eat for me. My husband and daughter eat what I eat, but add potatoes or rice or bread. Whichever they feel they need. I instead eat a huge helping of carb-friendly vegetables, and either chicken, fish, beef or pork. Whichever strikes my fancy that night. This diet is not about eating Fat, This diet is not about eating Meat. This diet is about responsible and balanced eating. With fewer processed carbs than the average diet. This diet does not eliminate a food group. This diet is not just about eating in Induction during the first 2 weeks. This diet has 4 levels, that you gradually go through, until you can eat everything in moderation. And the stuff you can't eat, you probably shouldn't be eating anyhow. Chips, chocolate bars, etc.

Atkins Diet
Hi. I was never really chubby..I weighed like 123 but that was kind of big for me and my frame plus i wanted to look good in my swimsuit so i went on this diet and was at 110 in two weeks but the only problem was it made me really tired since it cut down the carbs.. I didn't try the Netcarb Stuff..But that might help i really liked this diet..I could basically eat what i wanted

You know, there's a reason "Mr. Atkins" died from a heart attack. The atkins diet might work to a certain extent, but when you develop heart desease, you may be singing a different tune.

i think the atkins diet is a ridiculous method of dieting which will lead you nowhere. Its fab if people have lost weight by doing that diet , but most people have just ended up worse. I would reccomend the Facial Analysis diet which is a sensible diet that consentrates on the things that your body is missin etc. So its not like you are damaging some of the good stuff about you body. You should type it into google or ( like i did) pop into your local library , your sure to find a book about it. But also i think different diets suit different people so take a try of everything and see what is the best.

first of all there is no such thing as baby fat when ur 13! all of us have an amount of fat on our bones and being a baby has NOTHING to do with it. i don't beleive in diets. i beleive in eating right and exercing. even a eating plan doesn't count as dieting. there are all sorts of tricks to help u lose weight without counting every little thing u eat. I love the girls life article Don't you dare diet. it lets u know all about that sorta stuff. so for me its a don't u dare diet lifestyle!!!!

you want to lose weight, eat a BALANCED diet, yes this includes carbs, you need them to live otherwise your body starts eating its own vitamin and fat stores and its eventually hurts you, its unhealthy to cut all the carbs out, you want limits to them fine, but its bad for you to remove them completely, its almost like cannibalism. you want to lose weight? eat a balanced diet and exercise....duh
