Personally, I love blogs and online journals. It's fun. I just don't put my deepest secrets on there or anything. NOBODY's gonna read my deepest secrets... NOOOOO WAYYY! I just write what i'm doing and stff

As far as I know, all sites have a privacy setting which makes it for your eyes only. And that's what a diary is for, right? After all, if it gets public, it might as well just be a normal blog. And if you're stupid enough to go around posting your deepest darkest secrets *without* making it so no one can see, then that's your problem. It's the same thing with an old-fashioned diary - you write stuff and leave it for people to see, that's your own fault. Some people might like to censor themselves, but whatever. Don't always assume it's for attention.

Very handy when you don't like to write. Typing is easier for me and I like to show what happens in my life each day. People give me advice all around the world which helps me a lot. All of their opinions count to me.

I have Xanga and I love it, b/c I can vent about stuff and get unbiased feedback. And I can make my page (www.xanga.com/xoxblazind ivaxox) all pretty. Some journals are actually pretty interesting... like mine. LoL.

online diaries
online diaries are good if you want to keep things from yor parents or your lil brother and sister they cant read it so its a good things type up what you feel store it online and since you need a password you can only gain access.

they are so much fun!
i think they are really funn to have and stuff and put all the funny giggley stuff that you always tell everybody on so you dont have to repeat urself, but all my secrets and my problems and stuff i dont want people to kno goes in my REAL diary, so if you dont like them then dont get one. I have a xanga. it rox. Its colors match the white stripes...gotta love em.

On-Line Diaries Rawk
I belive that on-line journals are a great idea. This is because of the simple fact that, for almost every single 'blog' site that there is, you do not use your real name. You write under a pen name. Therefore, anyone else reading it won't know who you are, unless you post the true name. So, although everyone is reading your business, no one knows who you are. It's like a soap opera!

I think they're cool
Not all entries have to available to the public. More than half my entries are private. Also I like them more because I am quicker at typing then writing plus it's good practice to be a quick typist.

I used to be in love with xanga but...
i remember those stupid little e-props and all that. and all that look at me and my pretty site stuff. not into that much. after i lost my password i did not have the energy to make a new one. it got boring and i stopped.i personally dont want my thoughts on a cumputer.

i agree with cece116. and then there was this special on CNN about it. it ended a girl's life. i forgot the site's name, but it's for girls/guys who want to commit suicide. people were writing how they're going to kill themselves, where they get the poisons, how do you hang yourself and so on. and she ended up going on the site for only a week. Writing her personal reasons for suicide, and then, someone inspried her to go and get a poison that doesnt do any harm. but just slowly decreases your heart with no pain at all.

Wastes time
I have a xanga and I go on a lot but I don't like that I do. I see it as a waste of time. There are so many better things I could be doing, but I'm addicted to xanga so I'm online. Not to mention there's the safety issue. Sure, there are precautions you could take, but Xanga, while it has a safety site and all, doesn't seem to encourage this stuff. There's the idea of "Metros" - so unsafe, telling people where you live. And even though it's just a metropolitian area, they allow people to create "metros" for smaller towns. And they have a "High School" section in your profile where you write where you go to school. And now you can post photos! I try to be extremely careful online. It scares me a little. Does anyone have any tips for how to get un-addicted?

I mean I had put my most personal thoughts and secrets (how I was a cutter, who I had sex w/ that weekend, what drugs I did,) on this. Well, eventually everyone found out about it and the entire school had read it! That was soo humiliating. I lost alot of friends b/c of it. A lot of people hated me for a while. But I realized that it was all my opinion and if they didn't like it, they shouldn't read it. Obviously over time everyone got over it and I apoligized to everyone but it was totally embarassing. If you have an online journal make sure it's private (duh to me!)

its possible that peole could get into your thoughts because it could jus tslip out somehow, and besides the traditional way is safe, just paper and pen. i mean oyu cant draw on your real online diary or personalize it with picture cutouts and cool signatures.i have used them and i dont like them

i think most people have them for attention. cuz, let's face it, it's either gonna be, "WOW! that person is SO LUCKY!" or "OMG i feel REALLY bad for that person." why else would you feel the urge to expose what's going on in your life to cyberspace?

any thing in the internet isnt safe. it all can be hacked. if u look hard enough u can find anything on every 1. i feel uneasy using them

Not really dis but...
I don't think I'd want one. I would probably only write what happened that day, but not secrets or who I'm in love with. I'd rather write in a paper diary/journal so I can keep it and look back on it.

Diarys r 2 write in to read in like 20 years! Why would u put in on ur computer, it could get lost, looked at some how or even deleted! Who wants that! Like i said diarys r tresures that r saved then found 20 years later to enjoy u can't do that w/ an online diary!
