No one should put down a model just because she can confidently pose in a swimsuit. She must be proud of herself, and why not? They're beautiful. If you've got it, why not show it off a little. The people at my school criticize
others for being hot, and it's ridiculous. Some people put in the effort to stay in shape and they do it for their own self-esteem and pride and confidence, not just to show it off. If everyone wants to put them down, it must be because they're too lazy to put in the work are are purposely not trying and rebelling against the idea just to BE a rebel.

(I also think its really annoying when everyone says its because the models have some sort of eating disorder. If you don't eat for days, you'll look sick, not amazing. I'm 5'4" and im only 105 pounds, but I eat like a horse. Some people rwally can't just gain weight, and why would I want to be 150 at my size! They're totally proportionate. And if you look at their skin, it glows - good nutrition like fruits and vegetables - and their hair looks great too. If you don't eat your skin becaomes dry and your hair thins. They eat right and excersize to stay in shape.)

i hate that people think models are responsible for them being fat and etc. i mean you're always gonna be skinnier then SOMEONE and you're always gonna be fatter then SOMEONE. so you're FATTER then the girls in the swim suit issue..big deal.. now focus on who you're SKINNIER then.

Why does it matter?
If people want to pose for Sports Illustrated then good for them. Same goes to Playboy and all those other adult magazines. It's their lives and if they feel like posing in a bikini or naked then they have the right to do so.

To all of the people who say that they have an eating disorder
It's so untrue to say that the girls posing for those magazines have an eating disorder. I have a body very similar to those girls on the magazines (thin with big boobs) and that's just the way I am. In fact, I love food and eat more than most of the guys I know do and no, I don't throw it up after.

I like it. I really love swimsuit season and hey I wouldnt mind someone taking pictures of me like that. Also the models are not anorexic. They look great! They're toned, curvy and dont look like emaciated sticks in designer clothing. I like to keep my body fit and that magazine makes me even more excited for the summer time plus some of the swimsuits are awesome!

I'm all for em... I may not be a guy, but I do like to see them. being bisexual, I do like women too. I would try being a swimsuit gurl myself when I'm old enough to, but I am from native peoples in wich thier are rules I follow and photos and cam are forbidden.

I give those girls props for the confidence to pose. I work out all the time and I know how much work it takes to get a fit body and maintain it.

i hope that those people think their thin enough, ya know, after not eating anything but ice cubes. i hope they are happy that they make girls that are overweight like me feel like we are elephants (even though it's all about elephants, no excuse!). i hope that after extensive plastic surgery, ya know, they feel happy enough to practically be 97% nude. i'm on the swim team, so i wear a suit every freakin day. (noone really wears a bikini, mind you), and, ya know, not everyone is thin. i hope they are happy they make a majority of us feel huge.

Bill Maher put it perfectly in his book "New Rules." Essentially, there's nothing wrong with showing half-naked girls (it is, after all, their First Amendment right) but by doing that they're no better than Playboy or Penthouse. The SI swimsuit issue should be in the "adult magazine" section where it belongs.

They are fake. The models are just too slutty and trashy to live. The issue is distracting guys from their true relationships with their girls, lowering the self esteem of us females, and it's annoying the heck outta me!
Not all guys think only about sports and perfect models. I know several guys who don't want girls having low esteem because of these Sport-Illistrated models. They want real girls in the real world, not some fake bikini model. The last thing they need is some swimsuit isssue to distract them from reality.
