Dissecting a fish, frog, and then baby pig was my favourite part of biology! you can look at all the diagrams of inner organs that you want, but you will never fully understand what it all looks like until you've seen it up close! I kind of felt bad because they have to kill the fish and the frog before dissection. the baby pig (which was the COOLEST of them all) was an aborted baby from a pig going to the slaughter house. the baby was dead anyway, but instead of going to waste, the schools take them.

ya its disgusting (spl?) but its not like they just take them from the wild. they have farms and they're bred for it. I'm disecting a frog at the end of the year. It's probably very interesting.

meh...it's not great,but it would prob be pretty cool
they get the frogs from a farm where they breed them,so it's not inhumane! I'm not a big fan of seeing animal's guts,but it would be pretty cool 2 see whats inside of a frog...so,as i always say,meh.

OMG! i LOVE dissecting things!!! once i dissected a frog that my cat killed, and burned it on the sidewalk just for fun. LMAO! dissecting classes are the most enjoyable science classes of the year! WOOT! i will be dissecting a frog this year and i plan to leave its limbs and organs on the desks of teachers that i dislike! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I read someone's reply on the dis side and they said "Animals that are raised to be killed by humans is just wrong." For some reason, I doubt the people on the dis side are all vegetarians, but I could be wrong. If you're a meat eater saying that dissecting animals is wrong, then you should probably look at what you're doing to thousands of animals in meat processing factories. These days we have come up with the technology to see what is inside something without taking invasive measures to do so, but there are some things you can find out by looking inside an animal. I think that if the animal was properly killed in a humane way, or was already dead to begin with, then it's okay to dissect. Other than that; I do not agree with it, but it's all dependant on the situation.

i think its ok because its not like frogs are indangered or something its just a way of life.its not like were herting them caz once there dead hey do i need to say more.and plus when i was in 7th grade we disected a pig each person got a different part the heart the liver the kidney etc its was alot of fun so why not frogs!

i don't understand why this is a such a questionable action. this is such a great opportunity for students who want to become something in life dealing with medicine getting practice.so we need to get over it and put the beads and medallions down for a while. we shouldn't be against everything in life . i mean it' good that we us gurls' are being proactive and doing something we believe in and having a voice but please calm down!!

When I did it, it was actually alot of fun. It might seen gross but it was really cool. People should be able to choose if they want to do it or not though. You have to take into consideration, if you think that it is cruel,that these frogs are breeded for solely this perpose.

I am against dissection of any animals. I think it is inhumane and cruel when there are alternatives. Cutting open a dead animal is pointless and disgusting.

I've never discected a frog, but I've done some other descetions in highschool, like a pig dessection, and I think it's not very valuable and just shouldn't be done anymore, you can learn the same things from diagrams and models.
