sometimes its a good thing
in my old skool they had cameras and they needed them!!!!!! ppl would do horible things and then evry1 would get punished. its better this way so skool can stay safe...

for our own good...
At my school they got rid of hall monitors because of school cameras. Now we don't need any hall passes, or bathroom passes or whatever. Also the cameras help to prevent fights from starting or the supposed "gang violence" that we have at my school, because there's someone watching before it can happen. Lots of people are making better choices because they know that they're being watched. Think about that.

As long as they keep them out of the locker rooms and bathrooms, I don't see a problem with it. I think it could save many students who have been falsely accused of theft or vandalism alot of trouble. In my school there have been problems with people stealing out of lockers. At least it could make it seem like the school was making an effort.

yeah
well i think their a good idea because at least u know that your not gonna get into trouble for something u didn't do just as long as their not in the bathrooms

Yes Yes Yes!
i think it is an awesome thing to have around. It could prevent a lot of things from happening.

it helps
okay. last year, my firend and her exboyfriend had a really messy break-up. well it helped the cops find out if he did break into her locker and steal everything out of it. most people are saying students have rights. NO WE DON'T. I don't know about your high school but in our high school there are signs that say we can search your locker and cars with reason. That is what they are doing. They only go look at the tapes to take action againest CERTAIN students. Like students that break probation. Students that are fighting in the hallway. You do not have some guy staring at you all day.

Saftey
it keeps us students safe from harm. If there is a fight, they can catch it and break it up. If someone comes on campus who shouldn't be, they can make sure us students are safe.

i like & i dont like
i like because its good 4 protection & they can spot out good & bad. and i dont like because sometimes police aint on there job looking at them to see whats goin on

Somtimes you just need it
I think it would be great to have cameras on the outside of our school. Fights always occur there and tagging. It'd be a good way to keep our school clean and reduce the lengths that fighting take.

We had them in my high school. They were used to help determine who did what in a fight, and to help pinpoint any trouble. They weren't on all the time though. And only about 4 of them really worked. We had the small ones, and not the huge ugly ones like some of the high schools had. They were more psychological though. If you were generally a rule abiding person then they didn't matter. If you weren't some people wouldn't fight, or whatever, because they didn't want to get caught. But then some people didn't care and would fight anyway. I didn't really care about them. They have them everywhere now. If you're not doing anything wrong then they shouldn't matter.

be serious
the ppl that are dissin it talkin bout it invades their privacy must be doing something wrong cuz if they werent doin nothin wrong it wouldnt be a problem. second if they would have put cameras in school sooner it could have prevented columbine and other school shootings. i care about myself and the ppl around me so i'm diggin school survelliance.

totally
i go to the biggest high school in the state of wisconsin, and the security cameras make me feel a whole lot safer, seeing as a lot of fights break out in our school and a lot of things get stolen they dont watch you they only view the tapes when they're trying to catch someone if they've stolen something out of someones locker

They Keep Us Safe
I like the idea of surveillance cameras. They help keep people safe and discourage people from starting trouble. The only place I would keep them out of is the bathrooms, for privacy, or at least out of the stalls.

Anyone ever heard of a little school called Columbine...

People Are Watching Me!
I don't even like the ideas of cameras. Can't students get any privacy? Sometimes i get out of class and i just want to walk around school because i get tired of sitting in a desk for 7 hours. Is that so much to ask? But, then i am afraid that a SRO will see me, so i just don't even do it. Come on. Can't they give us any freedom. What is next? Camera's in the bathroom? Heck, they probably already got it. Give us some freedom! We are not prisoners. Goodness gracious. I feel like i'm always being watched!

Boo hiss!!
It sucks no privacy!! We even have cameras in the locker room, it is nasty!!
--Posted by flyingbunny

We have student rights too!!!
Even though the cameras may be for a good reason, but our privacy is being invaded and we students have our student rights too...

--Posted by starrs07

yeah, if you're in a big school in a bad town then i can see why your school would need cameras.... but still. seriously, i agree, i hate being watched and i can't even wander around for a few minutes to stretch my legs because i'll get in trouble. i don't like having them.
--Posted by slkahl
