I think girls should buy a few items but no go over board. On the fashion boards I hear of girls getting $600 school shopping money. i think $100 would be more suitable. All you really need is about 5 tops and a couple pairs of jeans. You can wear your old clothes if they still fit. gees. What's with the rampant consumerism.

over the summer, your school school get to small. it only makes sense to buy new ones. don't go overboard of course, because some will still fit!

It is WAY awsome because you get to try on bunches of clothes and get bunches of clothes... AND NEW SHOES (which totally rocks) also getting to go to the food court at the mall cuse they have a taco bell!!!

ya i love school shopping. i don't go crazy becasue i ussually save up 150$ eevry motnh and then jsut go shopping and buy new clothes then, too. so it's like, no huge deal but it's still great!

i actually love it! call me a nerd, but i love buying new clothes, backpacks, even pens like i don't care. it's still shopping & im a major shopoholic. although i still don't like school thaaat much :P

Yea...
It is fun...except when you have to buy a certain thing of clothing because your damn school has a dress code...it gets boring really *sigh* wish my school would let me wear what ever I wanted to...

School is not a fashion show
I mean everyone already has clothes and unless someone undergoes a makor weight change I don't think that they have to spend several hundreds of dollars on back to school clothes. I mean you can wear clothes that you wore last year. So many people focus on their appearance but that isnt why one goes to school, one goes to school to learn. Not to wear expensive clothes and have other people envy you for it.

I can't this year.
My family's kinda poor and we can't afford it this year. We couldn't last year either. Actually I love school shopping, and I usually go to Gabriel Brother's or Goodwill and stuff anyway because I have kind of ecclectic tastes and I LOVE finding a bargain. I really wish I could go, but I prolly won't be able to 'till a few months into the school year, same as last year. Actually I'm pretty pissed now that I think about it...

I dont like back to school shopping all that much mostly because i have a budget, and i can never buy that many clothing items. It really sucks, because, seriously, I cant even afford to buy a weeks worth of clothes. I have to recycle all the lame stuff that i've worn my entire life that hardly fits me anymore and looks terrible now. Ugh! Everyone i know always ends up getting waaay more stuff than me! >=(

personally i really like school shopping.. but i dont get why people go crazzy about it.. most of the girls at my school are always saying sh*t like "IM TOTALLY GONNA BE DIFFRENT THIS YEAR.."SERIOUSLY! WTF!!?? your the same person.. a new pair of jeans doesnt make you a new person,.. GOD.. and its so expensive.. i spent $150 on just school supplies.. for clothes i just got 2 tee shirts pants and ONE pair of shoes.. i still have most of my clothes from last year :).. and no1 really pays much attention to me anyways so i dont really care about new clothes..

The only reason I have to dis on this one, is because it's just another reminder that the school year is about to start again. Once those ads start coming out, it's just another reminder that summer is about to end. But I do like shopping for new clothes. I just don't like the back-to-school part.

I suppose I wouldn't have such a problem with school shopping if people at my school didn't make such a big deal about clothes. Sometimes I feel I'm being judged by what I wear, and that I have to dress up in the latest fads. I also find it funny that some girls make it a point to take their looks up a notch just to be "different" and "re-invent" themselves.
