yes, you should always b polite !! if u don't respect others, do u think they're gonna respect u ? i mean, if u don't like some1 maybe there's a reason 4 not being polite but otherwise u should be polite, especially to ur parents n friends n everyone who u want to respect u !!!!

Lovely. That's all I've got to say! Being polite shows a sense of maturity, respect of authority class, and intelligence. Class is key. I'm always polite (or make a concious effort) whenever or wherever, You never know who you'll run into! But yes, being polite shows people that you've been taught well and that you know how to treat people. It feels good to know that wehn people compliment you on politeness, it's a good thing. Politeness really does make a difference on how people see you.

Okay, for all these people who says being polite is stupid, gay, dumb etc. Your the one who is stupid gay and dumb...yes that's not being "polite" but really.
During family runions even though they do think you're a freak because you have many peircings(like me..) and wear tons and tons of make-up. Just be polite and talk to someone else. Just smile at everything they say even if it's a downer. Because either other way. You must always think your beautiful...because everyone IS beautiful, in their own certain way. Sometimes it's hard to believe that...but you've got to:).

It's abosolutely fine to be opinionated, and it's not really necessary to be proper and formal at the time, but that said, I think it's important we all remain at the very least, respectful towards other and their opinions.

personally i prefer ppl to be polite... it keeps the peace and its sophisticated... of course if u are always polite ppl will take advantage of you, so you have to be bold some of the time... but i thik non politeness in the setting where you should be polite is disgusting

Being polite is good because it shows people you are mature and know what you are talking about, and thats good. You can be informal and still polite.

Polite to a certain point...
I think it's nice, exspecially for a guy, to be polite like holding and opening doors for you. It's nice to see people smile back at me, and to hear 'thanks'. We should all be somewhat polite to one another, gotta make this pathetic world a better place somehow right? lol I'm not saying be overly polite all the time but when it calls for a 'here, let me get that foor for you' I think you should do it.

it is also a great way to let down a guy who's askin you out when you dont wanna. I think we need more common-sense-minded and polite acting people in this world! u should be nice or something but u dont have to be a goody-to-shoe and use ur please and thank yous 24/7. I mean, dont overuse it. It just gets REALLY obnoxious. Like when ppl start tlaking like how their mommy taught them. UGH. I know i'm rude a lot of the time what can I say? I'm still a nice person though.

Okay, I admit I try to be polite when I'm at nice dinners or when politeness is apropriate. But not CONSTANTLY. It gets obnoxious if you do it 24/7, but you should be polite when the situation calls for it.

Cut the bull.
Having some kind of decency and decorum is always nice, but when you're being too unreal and fake, it gets a little odd. I hate when I feel obligated to be polite with someone who I don't like because there's always that voice in your head that tells you to be. Haha, it's like with some people, I find myself seeing the devil on one shoulder and seeing an angel on the other. Sure, being polite tells who is classy and who isn't, but when someone is treating you like you have down syndrome and being a complete bitch, screw the politeness. Life's too short to hide genuine feelings and always have that smile on your face.
