come on!
im a popular girl at my skool but im not like stupid and bimboish and skankyy!! i am doing 3 grades ahead of mine in math! I am the 2nd best speller in mt grade and i havent gone out with like every guy in my gradee!!! ppl tell me im popular becuz im rly nice and i mean some popularity is bad when theyre only popular for like their bf or like clothes or somethin but some is good and dont judge ppl by their social status

Actually I think the word popular's stupid and over-used. My friends are my friends because I like them. My friends have awesome personalities and thats why I hang out with them. Heres what I think::::
I think that so-called 'popular people' have the exact same problems with their popular friends as the not-so-popular people have. The only reason you hear about the popular people's problems is because they're popular and people talk about them more.
That made me sound like I don't care about people that arent as cool as others......but its true...i dont like uncool people. Thing is...you dont have to be well-dressed or extremely pretty to be cool..You need to be fun to hang out with
A lot of you girls are being haters that think that all popular girls are bitches just cuz you've met a few that are..you should keep an open mind

Popular kids arent always bad
At my private school there are cliques as in any school, and yes there are the popular kids but I mean its gonna be that way for a while.. it happens in K-12, it also happens in jobs. There are the pretty and rich. employees and the shy, quiet ones. I am considered popular but that is what happens when you are in cheerleading. Most of the "liked" popular kids are smart funny and nice. In other words popularity means you have a BUNCH of friends.

everyone always thinks that there has to be a pop girl! but really therer are diffrent cliques and people maybe popular in there group but not in their grade or school. like at my schoo we divide it by race. the black hoties popular girl is Kiara.the black pop guy is Vernell.the white pop girl is Megan!!! who ruins my life, the guy is Stevan whos the new kid! who is goin out with megan who i hate!!!for the mexicans,which are alot, the guy isIsh the gurl is Veaney. i go in to all groups i am not the pop girl but i have pop friends like Veaney,Vernell,and kiara. but popularity is nothing. all those people are pop in there group but not the best. only Megan is getting that title right now.but i am practuly the only person who goes out the group and i dont care if i am not pop cause its to iverrated and dumb anyways! Its cool to have alot of REAL friends but I dont like popularity. It makes some people feel great, and others feel like worthless crap. Most popular people are shallow soul suckers, not cool at all.

I have friends in all sorts of groups. But really, is it going to matter in a few years? When you graduate who will care? Is it going to help you get a job because you were "popular?" It doesn't matter what you're labeled in high school.

Popularity won't help
Popularity may be fun, but thats all it is. It won't help you get a job, make money, or raise a family. I hate it when some of my friends come up to me, and whine about how they so badly want to be in the popular group. Most of the kids at my school that are popular don't have good reputations, or good grades. When you get into University, or Collage, it won't really matter. To me it's like an obstacle in life that you have to get pass to realize that you can't put "I was popular" on your resume.

i think that being popular in school is that the most important thing to be... Just be yourself and if people except you for who you are then you will be popular... I tried to be popular my freshman year and stuff but now im a senior and i could really careless what some people think of me... because iam me... and i wish i was like that my freshman year my life would have been less stressful!

to many people worry about what others will think of them, if you are popular and your happy, then thats you. don't make it your goal to be as popular as possible. simply be yourself, thats all you need, is yourself. if your popular or not by being yourself, it doesn't matter at least your you. a lot of people are not. dont try to please everyone, aim on pleasing yourself.

Ok... I know all those people that think they are popular would be and are considered popular by almost the whole school... but if only people would think like this... Ok... The popular people say they are popular... they believe it, they think it, they live it... now the "losers." can easily do the same... they can believe they are, think they are, and live like they are. So if they can do the same thing they must be popular as well. So if they can do it cant the whole school. Ok. Now think of it this way. If we all believe that we are popular then that means there is a whole school full of popular people... which means that nobody is really popular at all... because everybody would think of themselves at the same level... if only people could see things that way... being in school would be soo much more easier....

Popularity is great - so long as you don't find yourself changing for other people. I consider myself popular just because I try to stay the same friendly, regular way I am with everyone, and they like me for it. You don't have to be mean to be popular, and most people who really don't know how to handle that kind of attention end up doing just that. I couldn't care less about it because I don't care if I'm loved or hated.

i don't call it popularity. i call it street fame. cuz its more than just in a school. like everybody might talk to everybody. its who goes to the parties and all the people that know each other on the st reets. i kno w a lot of people . but with it comes drama, fights n all kinds of stuff. if u have one main clique and nobody knows u i think then people would leave u alone. i dont really know though. cuz u can meet one person, and that person knows everybody, then u know everybody and suddenly ur one of them. and nobody can say "im myself!" because subconscioiusly they are influenced by everyone they meet. so you actually are a little bit of everyone. and i met so ooooo many different people in my life i have no idea who the hell i am. ***!

whats the true meaning of popularity?
i think being 'popular' has loads of different meanings. u can be popular for being a nice person and treating everyone with respect. but u can also be 'popular' for all the wrong reasons, like being pretty for example. there are some girls in my school who are gd looking, not the nicest people but still the reason theyre popular is just because they look gd in all the right clothes. i think being yourself is the best answer and if people dont like you for you then theyre not worth worrying about. its always gonna be their loss!!

Popularity sucks
What is popularity anyway? You go to school, see your "friends", and they greet you with fake smiles. You feel good for a while, but those assheads that just said hi 2 u are now laughing behind your back because your shirt doesn't perfectly match your pants. And what does that get you in real life, huh? nothing. Most poular kids I know think they have it all, but untill they get true friends they don't have squat.

I mean come on let's be serious, if all these "popular" kids didn't have MOMMY AND DADDY'S MONEY to support their habits then they'd be nothing! It just makes me LAUGH so hard to think of how all those "popular" kids think that everyone who likes them are their friends. You know like I said before w/o all MOMMY AND DADDY'S money and big house etc. all those kids wouldn't have anything to do with them. Oh yeah and you know the REAL EPIPHANY of it all....lol...in ten years no one is going to know who the hell they are anyways...so why waste the time trying to make yourself known, when in reality you'll just be a nobody to the real world...you know to the people that actually MATTER!
