Ok, besides flirting with your eyes, this is the cutest, littlest way to show some affection. It's childlike and innocent, too. I love when guys/girls go for my hands. It's a good way to send little hints, too.

I have to say that holding hands, although can be seen as something very small is a very important part of a relationship. For a start you can tell a guy likes you when he reaches out for you hand and wont let go, it's a great way to know where things are heading. But mostly it's a sign that you or your boyfriend is proud to show you off to everyone, to say yes I love this girl/boy and they're mine. It's a sign of togetherness, oneness and friendship and after all isnt that what love is all about?

Holding hands is a wonderful gesture. It's so friendly! I love that it's one of those gestures that's acceptable in almost any relationship: friends, lovers, children- even people who don't like a lot of physical contact are usually all right with holding hands. And it's a good way to comfort someone or offer your support.

I absolutely love holding hands! It's a sign that the couple wants everyone to know they are together, without being all over each other. It's so sweet when the guy reaches out for her hand, because it takes a lot of guts. It shows that he doesn't care what his buddies or other girls think.

I had a boyfriend who used to refuse to hold my hand and it was really hard for me. I think holding hands is such an important way to show affection... plus, it just feels nice.

I think it is sooooo cute when couples hold hands. It's like showing then you don't want to let them go. And when that significant other grabs your hand unexpected, you feel like tingle go down your back, or the butterfilies in your stomach. I still get them when my boyfriend [of 11 months] takes hold of my hand.

Holding hands is always cute. It's extremely sweet and the childish feeling is a good one. It shows you that the other person wants to be close and it's harmless. Holding hands is often a good start to a relationship with someone you still are getting to know. =]

Bad experiance
Its good for comfortable couples but it can be a horrible shock when someone you'd expect to like holding hands doesnt. I guess I just had a bad experiance but I went to hold hands with a guy I was sort of 'dating' if you could call it that and he totally rejected it and put my hands on my lap giving me the worst look! It makes you feel so stupid when you want to do things like that and the one you're with does not!!

It's Love? Spare me, Please!
Holding hands is a cultural sign of affection and understanding. I, myself, believe it's an important non-verbal gesture. But when it defines as being a "couple" gesture, I'm going to disagree in that argument. My close friends and I like to hold hands when we go out. It's a friendship bond we have that we like to do. On- lookers would think that we're "queers". Holding hands isn't included for couples, instead it should be welcomed for any type of relationship.

I would love it, but....
My hands are always cold! It's embarrassing lol. I'm always told my hands are freezing, most guys got use to it but still haha. And they do tend to become clammy... Yeahhh it's not too fun..lol

but i hate when boys try to hold my hand...
it might be because im kinda self-conscience about the rough-ness of my hands [i was such a tomboy as a younger girl] but i just don't like the feeling... i rather my boo held me by the waist or something.... idk.. lol
