he's a genius...
By acting like an ignorant outsider, Borat is able to point out a lot of the actual ignorance that exists in Americans, not to mention spotlighting human rights issues in countries such as Kazakhstan.

I really want to see it! Borat...the accent...just everything is appealing to Americans. It may be sexist and racist and what not, but honestly in every American there is a little bit of laughter behind that kind of joke and humor.

I haven't seen it yet; I'm going to go with my flatmate this weekend I think. I love Sacha Baron Cohen, and the Borat stuff he did for TV is hilarious, so I think the film should be as good.
People who think it's racist etc. are missing the point - he's making fun of <b>racists</b>, not of ethnic minorities. His other character Ali G - your basic white boy acting 'ghetto' - is exactly the same idea: he mocks racism by putting on these personas. And he does it so well!
And don't forget - the performer himself is Jewish, so any Jew jokes have to be listened to with that in mind.

Such a funny film. it is also incredibly ironic, ppl think that Borat is racist, sexist, anti-semetic etc But borat is just a made up character, he highlights the fact that many many americans are the ones who are racist, sexist etc etc. for example, Borat insults jews on a regular basis, and many real americans actually agree with him! one guy even thought that the holocost was a good thing#! but the guy who acts Borat is in fact jewish himself....

I don't even care about the controversy. Frankly, the racist parts were funny (hello, Sacha Baron Cohen is Jewish).
What I found was that it wasn't funny. Most of it was just crude jokes and humor. I'd be OK with it, if it was only once or twice but it kept on happening and happening. The audience thought it was hilarious though. (Oh, The sad state of our nation, put a few naked guys on the screen and everyone laughs.
Seriously, guys don't rate the movie unless you saw it. How are we supposed to get an accurate picture of it's popularity if you haven't even seen it?

i was expecting it to be absolutely HILARIOUS, and that i would be falling on the floor / pissing myself. but i guess my expectations were too high. dont get me wrong, some parts were awesome haha but idk

it's funny the first time you see it cuz you almost feel obligated to laugh, because its supposed to be Hilarious and so controversial, you kind of feel like you're being rebellious by laughing at stereotyping, racism, and a lot of crazy yet wrong things. but then you watch it again, and realize it doesnt last as long as you thought it did the first time...and it's not near as funny.

I rented it and watched it with my mom and dad
I was scared for a while after that. lol I was watching it with my parents, and then he was naked, and the other guy, omg. I freaked out! I ran out the room and I was in shock, lol. My mom and dad turned it off. I was so mad that I even rented it. It has funny parts, but the nudity is gross. I still can't believe I saw that. Gross.

I was grossed out by this movie so much I had to switch to another channel within five minutes (I tried to watch Borat on a flight to England last year).
