I do agree with you Sabrina..a lot of the songs out there do seem to discriminate homosexuals, women, etc. but, I've learned to just kinda get over it. I mean, some people like it, some people don't. So, I guess if yah don't like it, just don't listen to it.

I LOVE EXPLICIT LYRICS!!! so what? they have explicit content, i dont freaking care!!! the lyrics are the best part of every song! "bad words" are just a little extra spice to the song. it gives it a whole new category to look into! the words to any song are the thing that gets me going, and it does it even more if they have a little extra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a supporter of profanities in rock music, although I see nothing wrong with editing the music for people who disagree. Many of the dissers use rap as a scapegoat, but remember, rockers have been cussing for ages, as well as other musicians. I agree that some of the language in rap music is unnecessary and rather obnoxious. Just consider that maybe the language is used to convey a point. (Just listen to Green Day's "American Idiot" and imagine the clean version. Do you agree that it would lose a lot of its meaning?)

First of all, you can't censor life, so why try to censor music? It's freedom of speech. Music is art. Censoring someone's art isn't right. So what if they sing about sex, drugs, and violence? If that's what they have on their mind and they want to express it, so be it. You don't have to listen. I love controversy. Anything that will make a statement and get attention is what I call music.

well...
I'm not a big fan of hip-hop/rap which contains a lot of it and I usually have a scrunched up look on my face whenever I hear it because it's not right. But I listen to dance/electronica music and a fair amount of it contains explicit language, and I really don't care because as long as the beat is cool, and it sounds awesome, I love it. So...I'm kinda in between.

its good music. It really doesn't matter if people cuss or not, thats how they express themselves, it's not a bad thing. Just because there are songs like that, doesnt mean the people that don't like that sort of thing have to listen to it. Just let them do what they want.

I listen to more rock music and those angry swear words are just fun to me. It's a way to get out my anger, to relate to someone who's just as pissed off at life as you. not that i'm against rap, because i do like some, but it disgusts me. I cannot listen to many mainstream rap songs because of the way they talk about women. "C'mon girl i'm trying to get you're pussy wet" What girl wants to listen to that?! "Bitches get down on the floor" etc. it's awful!!! let's have a little respect for ourselves.

Throwing pointless curses into a song sells more records, but it doesn't make the song good. If the lyrics have a curse word here and there to get a point across that's fine, but a lot of artists just throw certain words around to grab attention.
