All my friends make fun of me because I have a flat butt. It really irritates me to see other girls with bigger butts. No matter how hard I try and eat to get one, I can't! Any suggestions?
Hi.
Much of our body shape (where we store fat and where we have the most muscle mass) is determined by genetics and by our diet; however, there are some types of exercises that can help you target your butt, like squats, lunges and hamstring curls. These exercises can help you shape and tone what you do have for maximum effect.
For a full explanation of these exercises and how to do them without getting hurt, consult a trainer at a gym, your gym teacher, crack open a few books on weight training or go to a reliable website like WebMD or The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
While these exercises are likely to help, don't expect a miracle. The change may only be slight, but working out can lead to greater confidence in yourself and feeling better about your body. You will be more likely to focus on the parts of your body that you do like and to make the most of them, rather than concentrating on what others consider a flaw. If you feel better about yourself overall, you won't be as focused on one body part.
