Tadasana (mountain pose)
The feet are the foundation of yoga, and during the practice we return again and again to this pose to feel strong, connected and tuned in.
Start with the feet hip's distance apart and align your big or second toes. Imagine that your feet have four corners and rock your weight from front to back, right to left.
Now come to a neutral position where you feel like all four corners are making contact with the earth.
Draw your tailbone down toward the floor as you turn your palms slightly out and broaden across the chest. Again, feel the crown of your head floating above your shoulders.
You may actually feel like you are swaying around, and you might be, but just bring your awareness back to your breath and the connection your feet have made with the earth.
