Many times the symptoms of AD/HD become less severe as a person grows up. By the teen years experts believe the hyperactivity part of the disorder can decrease, though the problems with organization and attention often remain the same. Statistics show that around 50% of those with AD/HD as a child will still have symptoms as an adult.
Keep in mind, you cannot develop AD/HD as an adult; it is a disorder that begins in childhood. Usually those adults with AD/HD experienced the symptoms as a child but they weren't recognized as a disorder at the time.
