Pedophiles may have the following things in common: low self esteem; awkward in adult social situations, especially with women; painful childhood experiences; self-obsession; and the sense that he or she is still a child.
Pro-pedophilia activism exists in the form of various organizations and grassroots activists. The North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) supports making sex between adult men and young boys legal as long as both parties are consenting. However, due to societal and legal pressure this organization is largely non-operational.
