Different religions present a variety of views on homosexuality. While some, such as Taoism and Native American religions, consider homosexuality natural and sacred, the "Abrahamic" religions generally view it negatively. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that people should only have heterosexual relations, and only when married. The Catholic Church states that people with homosexual tendencies "must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity" but that such tendencies are also "contrary to the natural law" and must be overcome.
Certain denominations, such as the Anglican and Protestant Church have become more liberal, but the Christian majority still views homosexual relationships as sinful. Judaism ranges from the conservative Orthodox view of homosexuality as sinful to the liberal acceptance in the Reform movement.
